SU Catholic Center gives January recap, Ash Wednesday schedule and student retreat invitation

Opening sandwich-making session of the 2020 semester: January recap & looking forward to February

Each month following our weekly Thursday Mass and dinner, our community “pays it forward” by making sandwiches that are donated to local food pantries. Our first sandwich-making session of the new year and academic semester took place on Thursday, Jan. 29, where we prepared 450 ham & cheese sandwiches! We would like to extend our gratitude to our students and members of the community for all their help! We are looking forward to our next sandwich-making event on February 27.

Spring semester retreats!

On Saturday, Jan. 25, we hosted a semester-opening retreat entitled “Abide: a day of prayer for college students.” Eleven students joined us at the Christ the King Retreat Center in Syracuse and had the opportunity to pray together and get to know one another as we encounter a new year and academic semester. Our next retreat is student-led and will be held on the weekend of February 28 – March 1. This retreat will explore the theme of “Hope.” If a student is interested in more information or signing up, please email Jeremiah Deep at
