Wedding Date Options
Wedding reservations are accepted for dates during the summer months beginning the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend and concluding the second weekend of August.*
*From July 1, 2016, until the second week of August 2016 the front steps of Hendricks Chapel will be under construction and unable to be used during weddings. The Chapel will still be available during this time and the side entrances can be used.
Other Reservations Dates (off season)
Weddings may be booked for dates during the academic year if they do not conflict with other campus events; however, we are unable to book dates until July 1 of that year. If you are considering an off-season wedding, please contact Elizabeth Cronk at 315-443-2902 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note, occasionally, unforeseen events or activities make occur in spaces surrounding the Chapel. We will try to schedule your wedding free of conflicts with major SU events. Please be advised to the possibility an event could be scheduled, without notice to Hendricks Chapel staff, which may involve some conflicts with the Quad, traffic, parking, or noise.
About the Chapel Spaces
Weddings can be booked in either the Hendricks Chapel Main Chapel or Small Chapel.
The Main Chapel is located on the main floor of Hendricks Chapel. It can accommodate 1,000 people comfortably on pews. The space includes an elevated podium area. Please note, the Main Chapel does not have air conditioning.
The Small Chapel is located on the lower level of Hendricks Chapel. It can accommodate approximately 16 comfortably with wooden chairs. The space is narrower, does not have windows, and includes a small worship center.
As a sacred space of worship and sanctuary, we ask that wedding guests, vendors, and all who enter, treat the Chapel to reflect this awareness and respect the space. Hendricks Chapel reserves the right to refuse admittance.
Once you are ready to make your reservation, please contact Elizabeth Cronk, wedding administrator, at 315-443-2902 or email@example.com to discuss next steps. Elizabeth will work with you to check available dates, review policies and fees, and reserve the date and time for your wedding ceremony and rehearsal. Elizabeth is also available to answer any questions or to offer assistance and guidance in planning your ceremony.
Upon making your reservation, a wedding packet will be mailed to you to be completed and returned to Hendricks Chapel no later than two months from the date of your wedding ceremony. The wedding packet includes:
- Hendricks Chapel Wedding Reservation Form – form must be signed by both spouses and include officiant information before being sent to Hendricks Chapel; additional details can be marked “to be determined” and provided at a later date if necessary
- Request for Guest Chaplain/Public Official Form (if applicable) – this form only needs to be returned if you are using a guest officiant
- Music Policy
- Florist Information (two copies) – you can provide your own flowers or hire a florist
- Photography and Video Information (two copies) – includes Hendricks Chapel’s photography and videography guidelines
After making your reservation, any changes in the time of your rehearsal or wedding must be approved by the wedding administrator.
