The Eucharist is central to worship. Each week we transform the Noble Room in the basement of Hendricks Chapel into a place of worship. The reading of scripture, narrative-style preaching, bread, wine and water figure centrally in creating a space for the Spirit to convey a grace-ful experience of God's love in Jesus Christ.
Students plan an integral part in the planning, organization, and leading of public worship. We work hard to use the resources and experiences that students bring. Many non-music majors join "the professionals" in dusting off their guitars, flutes, oboes, saxes and brass to offer praise and worship to God. We don't always do things "by the book," but our goal is to enhance both the old traditions as well as the emerging hymnody from around the world.
Time for good food and fellowship always accompanies our worship service.

Sometimes worship is loud and wild, while other times the gathering is quiet and reflective. In all cases it is not what we do that "creates" the moment, but instead what God does to make worship meaningful.
What is most special about our worship? Many students will point to the group gathering around the altar for prayer and communing of one another. "Oh Lord hear our prayer" is coupled with "The body of Christ," allowing each person the opportunity to experience the grace of God in new ways.
Other worship experiences offered include dorm devotions, retreats, vespers services and personal devotions at certain times of the year. These are all opportunities for people to grow in faith and life as they wrestle with the key questions of life.
